"... View in the country cinemas !" — all advertising of new movies is finished. The enormous number of people runs with tickets in stretched hands to Premiere to enjoy new movie. Other, who have no time, after job or in week-ends go to buy DVD with advertised movie to appreciate a new product at home with popcorn glass. However, the number of people who are wishing to view DVD not only with famous movie, but with their own records made with camera during memorable events, journeys, or walking on a native town, grows as geometric series. After the available programs of nonlinear editing and the video catching cards had appeared, common fellows began to create their own movies, record them on video cassettes and now on DVD. However, it is still wished that a movie would be beautiful as totally real licensed disk with music in menu, clips, titles, etc… In general, it is needed that the work might be spread around the world enabling all to view your creation.

Two-three decades ago any owner of video camera felt himself as chronicler even for a family annals. If person had additionally a film projector, his relatives respected him minimally as movie producer. Ten-fifteen years ago the dream of home-bred historian reached the possession of video camera along with videotape recorder. To record became easily, conveniently, and the necessity to develop film with risk to spoil film footage could be given up. There appeared a possibility to primitively edit, but not for all.

Today a person does not follow the time dictation, if he does not hold a digital video camera in hand and have the blinking display on the table. However, everybody understands that availability of digital and analog camera does not ensure the real history fixation. It is insufficient to shoot and record the remarkable event on suitable medium, it is necessary to design the film footage, and only after that to record on disk or tape. At present days, DVD certainly became popular medium. There are many applications for editing video, and everybody is free to choose which are suitable in every way. However, editing video with applied effects and junctions is only half the work. It is still necessary to design "envelope" for your creation, and then to record it on a disk. The DVD-authoring program is used for this final step as well as for creation of DVD disk with menu, chapters, multi-channel sound, titles, and other delicious things. Some years ago such programs were available only at professional studios and cost many thousands of dollars, nowadays any fellow could feel himself as the studio worker creating DVD. It is only necessary to make no mistake in choosing such a program and take all your possibilities and capabilities for training into account. Certainly, many video editors have build-in capabilities for authoring, but, as it is known, the special-purpose tools are always more functional than universal tools.
